Jorge Martin made a statement in the French GP sprint with a dominant display, claiming the 18th Sprint victory of his career and his second of the season so far.
Aprilia continued their impressive start to 2026 with both riders making the podium, Jorge Martin finished ahead of Francesco Bagnaia, while Marco Bezzecchi finished 3rd.
It was a mixed day for Ducati as Bagnaia made the podium after taking pole position in qualifying. Marc Marquez, starting from the front row, spent most of the race in 7th place behind Joan Mir and Quartararo, however he suffered a huge crash on the entry to the final corner and appeared to land on his previously injured right shoulder. He was taken to the medical center after the race but no official updates have been announced as of yet.
Home hero Fabio Quartararo had a very good showing and managed to fight off the superior bikes around him to finish in P5. Johann Zarco had a decent enough run, but his poor qualifying meant that he was largely bogged down in the mid-pack.
There were seven crashers in total including Luca Marini, Raul Fernandez and both VR45 riders Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli.
