Marc Marquez recently teamed up with 4x Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar for some bicycle training ahead of a highly anticipated German Grand Prix this weekend at the Sachsenring.
The collaboration took place thanks to the Insta360 camera company, who showed off their mounted sports cameras and captured the two 'GOATs' of their respective sports in conversation. Marquez, who is still recovering from a string of brutal injuries, followed for a brief portion of the cycling legend's training and remarked on what a difference a slipstream can make in road cycling before stating that he is 'Ready to rock' ahead of the German Grand Prix.
Pogacar, who was preparing for the 2026 Tour de France which is now underway, was highly respectful of the current MotoGP champion and even gifted him a signed cycling jersey as a gift.

Two racing legends share the road

Despite their very different disciplines there are certainly similarities to be drawn between Marquez and Pogacar when it comes to their racing legacies. Both are dominant champions who have defied all odds and set multiple records throughout their highly decorated careers. Marquez is a 9x World Champion across three classes, currently sitting second in the all-time winners list behind Valentino Rossi, while Pogacar's four Tour de France titles, 13 Monuments titles and 2024 Triple Crown make him one of the greatest cyclists of all time too.

MotoGP riders often collaborate with riders from other disciplines due to the nature of their training. While Jorge Martin and Aleix Espargaro are keen cyclists, with the later even becoming a professional cycling competitor once he had finished his MotoGP career, Fabio Quartararo, Diogo Moreira and the Marquez brothers are all famously keen motocross enthusiasts too.

Marquez expects to improve at Sachsenring

Looking ahead to this weekend, while Pogacar guns for a record-equalling fifth Tour de France title, Marquez will be trying to add a tenth Sachsenring victory in the premier class to his ever-growing legacy. Marquez currently sits fifth in the overall standings, but is only 40 points behind current championship leader Jorge Martin in one of the most tightly-contested MotoGP seasons of the last decade.
At the Dutch Grand Prix in Assen, GP Blog spoke with Marquez about his chances at the Sachsenring and how he expects to fare given the injury struggles he has endured so far in 2026.
