An emotional radio message between Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso and team principal Adrian Newey has emerged, after the Spaniard secured much-needed points for the British team at the Dutch GP.
Having now introduced major aero and power unit upgrades at both Budapest and Zandvoort, Aston Martin seem to be on a steady course to turn their 2026 fortunes around, with Alonso scoring only his second points finish of the season at what will be the final Dutch GP for the foreseeable future.
Two-time world champion Alonso bettered his somewhat fortunate P10 finish in Monaco in June with an excellent drive to P9 at Zandvoort, gaining nine places during Sunday's race to deliver Aston's best race weekend of the season.

In a rare team radio appearance, team boss and legendary designer Newey congratulated Alonso: "Well done Fernando, that was a great drive. Very disciplined and a great boost for everybody back at Silverstone. Thank you."
Alonso, whose F1 future is yet to be determined, was equally delighted with the points finish, praising the new-look AMR26 as a "lovely car to drive," and teasing more positive results for Aston.
"Yeah, absolutely, Thanks to you guys, everyone in Silverstone, amazing. Lovely car to drive. And more to come, I know. Thank you, thank you."

Elsewhere in the Dutch GP midfield, Alpine's Pierre Gasly and Racing Bulls' Arvid Lindblad have exchanged something of a war of words after both being involved in an exciting battle at Zandvoort. It was the Frenchman out on top, securing the final points position ahead of the Racing Bulls duo.
The Frenchman has vowed to remember how Racing Bulls "played the team game" and "ruined our race," despite his eventual finish ahead of Red Bull's sister team. "And the good thing is I have a good memory. So, yeah. I'm gonna make sure we smile at the end of the year," Gasly said.
