Verstappen race ban looms
The biggest talking point going into the race weekend is the danger of a race ban that looms for Max Verstappen around the
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
After the Dutchman was handed three penalty points for his incident with George Russell at the Spanish Grand Prix, he will now be walking on a tightrope during every single session of the weekend in Canada.
If the 27-year-old collects just one more point this weekend, he will have accrued 12 points on his license, meaning he will face a race ban at Red Bull Racing's home race, the Austrian Grand Prix.
However, even though there were questions posed to Verstappen about whether there will be any change in the way the four-time world champion will race with the worry of a race ban,
those thoughts were quickly refuted.
Ferrari in turmoil
It's been a turbulent week coming into the Canadian Grand Prix for Ferrari, with reports coming in that
the Italian team were looking at alternatives to Fred Vasseur as the team boss even before landing in Montreal.
Those
rumours were quickly shut down by Lewis Hamilton, who has already had his fair share of rumours about his future at Ferrari, along with his current relationship with his race engineer, Riccardo Adami.
As well as that, there was also talk about Charles Leclerc and his long-term future with the Scuderia, with yet more speculation growing. However, as with Hamilton, the Monégasque
quickly slammed shut those rumours.
