Leclerc firmly responds to rumors about possible departure from Ferrari

Tension is brewing at Ferrari. Not only is team principal Frederic Vasseur reportedly on the verge of being replaced, according to Italian media, but rumors are also swirling about Charles Leclerc considering a long-term future with the Scuderia. The Monegasque driver addressed the latter speculation while speaking to the media in Canada.

Charles Leclerc may be considering options beyond Ferrari if the team fails to make progress — at least, that’s what some reports in the Italian media suggest. However, Leclerc himself seemed puzzled by the rumors, admitting he has no idea where such stories suddenly came from.

Addressing the rumors ahead of Canadian GP on Thursday, the Monegasque driver said: "I am very surprised. I mean, I have no idea where it comes from. So I'd rather just ignore it. But I have not said anything about this in the recent races."

Leclerc reiterates his love Ferrari and denies rumors

Despite recent rumors about a possible departure, Leclerc once again reaffirmed his love for the Prancing Horse: "I keep saying how much I love the team and how much I want to bring Ferrari back to the top. So yes, I was just surprised."

Fred Vasseur was under fire this week in the Italian media. They believed that the Frenchman might have to leave if results do not improve. The rumors were then firmly shut down by the italian squad.

Lewis Hamilton has already shown his support for the team principal. Now, Leclerc has added his own perspective: "We have a vision that we share, the three of us, Fred, Lewis, and I, to try to win again. And we have worked on making it all happen. So yes, this is definitely our plan. And I think we need to stick to it."
