Lewis Hamilton responded to the recent rumors that surfaced today suggesting that Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur’s position might be at risk.
Will Frederic Vasseur really leave Ferrari at the end of the season? For now, nothing is certain, but the disappointing results from the Maranello team so far this season have raised more than a few alarm bells, and the Frenchman's position within the team is no longer as secure as it once seemed.
Lewis Hamilton tried to shed some light on the matter, responding to the recent rumors during the press conference on the eve of the Canadian Grand Prix: ''I was just made aware of it just before I got here, so I've not read the stories''.
''It's definitely not nice to hear that there stories like that that out there. Firstly, I love working with Fred. Fred's the main reason I'm in this team and got the opportunity to be here, which I'm forever grateful for. And we're in this together. We're working hard in the background''.

Hamilton trashes rumors on possible Vasseur's dismissal

The brit then added: ''Things aren't perfect, but for me, as I said, I'm here to work with the team but also with Fred. I want Fred here. I do believe Fred is the person to take us to the top. so that's that. So assault means nonsense, what people have written''.
''Most people don't know what's going on in the background. And it isn't all easy. It's not like it's all the smooth sailing in the background. We are having to make changes and it's a lot of work to do. And there is naturally a lot of pressure because we want to win. But that's not any part of the discussion at the moment''.
''I don't think that's on the cards as far as I'm aware and that's certainly not something that I would be supportive of''
''Embeddings, new people, new personnel, whether it's a driver or whether it's engineers or people who run an organization, it takes time to adjust and the impact that has is significan That's not part of the discussion. I'm here to win with Fred and he has my full support''.
''And to everyone that's writing stories of me considering not racing, I mean, I've literally only just started first year with Ferrari. So, and I'm here for several years and I'm here for the long haul. So there is no question in where my head's at and what I'm working towards achieving with this team. So there's zero doubts. So please stop making up stuff''.
