Norris, Verstappen and Piastri face seven-figure FIA super licence fees

Max Verstappen and Lando Norris will both pay more than one million euros for their FIA super licences ahead of the upcoming Formula 1 season. As per FIA regulations, drivers are charged a base fee plus an additional amount per World Championship point scored the previous year.
For 2026, the base super licence fee is €11,842, with an added €2,392 per point from the 2025 season. Norris tops the list after winning the world title with 423 points, resulting in a licence cost of €1,023,658, narrowly exceeding Verstappen’s €1,018,874. The difference is due to just two points separating them in the standings.
Oscar Piastri follows closely with a fee of €992,562, while George Russell, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton also face substantial costs. Rookie Kimi Antonelli’s licence totals €370,642 after his debut season.
