Pierre Gasly believes that Max Verstappen's manager did a good job when negotiating his former teammate's new deal with Red Bull Racing. Ahead of the
Dutch Grand Prix,
it was confirmed that four-time
Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen will remain with Red Bull Racing until the end of the 2030 season.
Speaking to
GPblog, among others, Verstappen's former teammate Gasly was asked about the Dutchman's decision. He also praised Verstappen's manager,
Raymond Vermeulen.
"No, [I'm not surprised]. I think a very good job from his manager and nice pay rise," Gasly smiled.
"Yeah, I mean it's one way of handling things and I think for the sport it's really good news for all of us to have Max on the grid. Arguably the best of our generation, so I think it's definitely good news."

Gasly appreciates Verstappen-Red Bull partnership
When asked whether it would be better to see such a champion compete for another team as well, Gasly had a clear answer.
He continued: "I mean, there is already a seven-time world champion (Lewis Hamilton, ed.) driving at Ferrari. I find it actually quite a nice story. I can't really recall any driver who spent that much time in the same team. Obviously, it comes with a price for that team, but I think it's just quite a story. And yes, overall, I do think it's a positive news for everyone."
