Lewis Hamilton feels an extra sense of motivation heading into this weekend's Dutch Grand Prix, with the seven-time world champion facing one final opportunity to claim victory at one of the few circuits on the calendar where he has never won.
The seven-time world champion finally broke his Ferrari victory drought this year by winning in Barcelona, while several other podium finishes have put him second in the championship heading into the second half of the season, still in contention with Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes despite the significant gap in the standings.
Speaking to GPblog and other media at Zandvoort, Hamilton admitted he is hugely motivated to finally conquer the Dutch circuit, having already won at almost every other track on the calendar. The Briton also praised Zandvoort's incredible atmosphere and the passionate crowd, highlighting the particularly strong support Max Verstappen receives throughout the weekend. With the circuit still one he feels he has yet to truly master in Formula 1, Hamilton is determined to change that this weekend.
"I don't think I've won here, as far as I'm aware. So, won it pretty much all the other tracks, but I don't think, I don't remember if I've won here before. So, definitely want to change that. So massively driven."

"It's just such an incredible circuit. Great crowd, obviously, very special, particularly for Max (Verstappen), as he comes here and has the incredible support through the weekend. But they really create the atmosphere, and it's a track I've yet to really truly conquer, I'd say, in Formula 1, so it's definitely something I'm going to try and do this weekend."

Hamilton and Ferrari accused of 'letting themselves down' in 2026 title fight

Former F1 driver Jolyon Palmer believes Hamilton and Ferrari have let themselves down in their attempt to close the gap to Mercedes championship leader Antonelli, arguing that a series of sloppy mistakes has prevented them from fully capitalising on the Silver Arrows' recent reliability problems.
Palmer pointed to Silverstone as a major opportunity for Ferrari, with Antonelli's front wing and wheel cover issues allowing the Scuderia to make significant inroads into his championship advantage despite initially appearing likely to lose the race. However, Hamilton and Ferrari have since picked up several penalties that Palmer believes could have been avoided.

Among them were Hamilton's jump start at Silverstone after moving his hand too early, his pit lane speed limiter infringement in Hungary and Ferrari's impeding penalty at the same weekend. While those incidents may only have cost a limited number of points, Palmer believes they have also hurt Ferrari's momentum and reduced the pressure on Antonelli, making it crucial for the team to eliminate such errors.
