Meet Roscoe, Lewis Hamilton’s legendary dog since the early years of his Formula 1 career and one of the paddock’s undisputed stars.
Adopted in 2013 during Hamilton’s first year with Mercedes, Roscoe quickly became a true celebrity in the paddock, with photographers flocking every time that the seven time world champion decides to bring him to the track.
Roscoe is a British Bulldog and over the years has faced some health issues, including respiratory and joint problems.
In 2020, Lewis decided to switch Roscoe to a vegan diet, which appears to have improved his health since then. This year, as he entered his thirteenth year, Roscoe was diagnosed with pneumonia, causing concern for Lewis, though his condition has since improved and is now under control.
Hamilton also decided to bring his dog to the paddock for the first time since becoming a Ferrari driver, during his home Grand Prix at Silverstone, where he sadly revealed that Roscoe has lost his hearing.
Nonetheless, Roscoe appeared to be in good health, even exploring the paddock and getting acquainted with the new faces at Ferrari, as shown in the post shared by the team below.
Roscoe is also a bona fide social media star, with his account boasting 1.2 million followers and 581 posts to date, where Lewis shares daily snapshots of his routine.

How is Roscoe doing today?

A few days ago, the seven-time world champion alarmed his fans by sharing a sad photo with his dog, admitting he had gone through “a few scary hours” and hinting at a worsening of the bulldog’s health.
Hamilton then decided to skip the Pirelli tests at Mugello to stay by his beloved pet’s side, later sharing more details on social media and revealing that Roscoe is currently in a coma following complications from a recently contracted pneumonia.
On Friday, Hamilton also revealed on his social media channels that he will miss another major event, the Milan Fashion Week, in order to stay by Roscoe’s side, hoping for an improvement in his condition.
