Adrian Newey given a huge boost as Aston Martin sign key figure from rivals Racing Bulls

Aston Martin will sign former Racing Bulls senior strategy engineer GPblog can confirm.
“I will be back trackside next year, but first I need to fit in some gardening.”

The British team are sat in seventh in the Constructors' Championship, just 10 points behind Racing Bulls and have moved to poach Nick Roberts.
Aston Martin have a lot of talent within their ranks, with two-time world champion Fernando Alonso and designer Newey the marquee figures working in their brand-new Silverstone HQ.
Next year, the team will also switch from Mercedes engines to using Honda as F1 undergoes a substantial rule changes that will see the sport move to sustainable fuels and 50 percent electrical energy.
Roberts announced via social media that his time at Racing Bulls ended prematurely but he will return to the paddock in 2026.
He said: “Unfortunately my time at Racing Bulls has come to a premature end.
“However, this does mean for the first time in 10 years I get to watch the remainder of the season as a regular punter, let’s see how the midfield battle plays out!! (And we will see how much I can figure out without all the tools!)
“I will be back trackside next year, but first I need to fit in some gardening.”

Can Aston Martin get ahead of Racing Bulls?

Aston Martin are trailing the Italian team by 10 points with seven rounds to go andhave only broken into the top five once in 2025.
They scored a fifth-place finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix with Fernando Alonso at the Hungaroring.
Racing Bulls have had an upturn in form since the summer break as Isack Hadjar drove to third place in the Netherlands in what is proving to be a stand-out season from the rookie.
Liam Lawson also qualified third and finished in fifth place last time out at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix as Aston have struggled to score solid points in consecqutive races.
