Pierre Gasly was the unexpected winner of the Italian Grand Prix. A victory for which he needed a bit of luck, but it didn't come entirely out of the blue. The Frenchman explains in conversation with Autosport.com.
Gasly tells us that AlphaTauri have done an excellent job this season. Not only in developing the car, but also in improving the tuning during the race weekends. As a result, he was able to maximise the results on Sunday.

AlphaTauri has clear goals in mind

This is reflected in the results. Gasly admits that AlphaTauri certainly doesn't have the fastest car in midfield, but in addition to that victory, he also managed to finish well within the top ten several times, allowing him to maintain a place in those top ten in the championship.
"And now I think people are more motivated than ever to deliver even more. I'm really happy to have given them this boost because we have a strong package and I'm pretty sure we can get an even stronger one before the end of the year. They keep pushing, they have clear targets on downforce levels."
