Brendon Hartley believes Honda and Red Bull will prove to be a successful relationship in the years to come. The former Toro Rosso driver played an important part in the Honda development stages at Toro Rosso during the 2018 season.
In the STR13, the New Zealander scored just four points, much lower than his team-mates tally of 29. Daniil Kvyat and Alexander Albon will replace Hartley and Pierre Gasly in 2019 while Red Bull will swap the Renault engine for a Honda.
As Hartley couldn't make the Honda thank you event in Japan, he sent in a message of thanks from his home. In it, he confirmed he expects the Honda engine to produce good results.
"I had an incredible experience this year working with everyone at Honda. I have a huge respect for the work ethic, the morals the values and I have absolutely no doubt that Honda will be successful with Red Bull Racing," Hartley said in the video posted by Honda.
