Sebastian Vettel says "time will tell" if his partnership with Charles Leclerc will work. The German claims he doesn't know the Monegasque enough yet to make a judgement, but he believes Leclerc is "a good guy".
The duo form to give Ferrari experience and fresh talent in 2019 as they push to beat Mercedes. Leclerc, who was under 10 years-old when Vettel made his Formula 1 debut, earned his promotion following positive results at Sauber in 2018.
The four-time world champion is still unsure what to expect from Leclerc as he tells France's F1 only.
"Time will tell us, of course, I do not know enough about Charles, he does not know me," Vettel said.
"I think he's a good guy, so I do not expect a problem on the track. I think we will be rivals as much as Kimi [Raikkonen]. We always try to be the fastest, and if you get there, you beat everyone, even your teammate.

"So, we'll see, we also know we want to be victorious with Ferrari. But for him, it's a different point in his career compared to mine. But as I said before, time will tell but he looks like a good guy."
