Paddy Lowe confirms Williams will continue to work hard on their 2018 car as they attempt to fix woes. Felipe Massa, driving for Williams at the time, qualified on pole in Austria 2012, but Lowe knows this weekend will be much harder.
The British team remain at the bottom of the constructors' championship having scored just 4 points. Charles Leclerc's performances haven't helped Williams as Sauber have moved 9 points clear.
Despite feeling low about his own teams' performances, Lowe still looks forward to Grand Prix weekends.
"We head straight on from France to the Austrian GP, for the second race in the triple-header race weekends. The undulating track is surrounded by impressive scenery, and the circuit itself also tends to produce some great racing," Lowe said in an interview on the chequered flag.
"The track is quite short, so sessions can feel quite busy, but it is a circuit where we have seen some good results as a team."
Robert Kubica will complete his second free practice in the cockpit of the Williams this weekend. Lowe looks forward to seeing Kubica in his car, a car which he wishes would help improve their position in the World Championship.
"We look forward to seeing Robert Kubica back behind the wheel for FP1, as we continue to push forward the development of the FW41," added Lowe.
"We are not where we need to be at the moment, but a lot of work is ongoing behind the scenes to address this, and we will continue fighting hard throughout the rest of the season."
