More extreme qualifying expected for Monza: 'It will be spicy'

For the second weekend in a row, Tsunoda is in action in Formula 1. Isack Hadjar still cannot compete because of the wrist injury he sustained ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix, which meant that Liam Lawson once again was called up by Red Bull Racing.

After the first two free practice sessions, the Japanese driver expects a spicy session on Saturday. He explained:"I think it will be chaos. FP1, FP2 was, probably FP3 as well. But I think, I guess, the usual, you know, story in Monza, it will be probably a little bit more extreme in this year.

Asked whether 'towing tactics' will come into discussion at Red Bull Racing ahead of qualifying, Lawson said: "I mean, for sure, it's something we'll we'll discuss, and we'll come up with a plan."

The team had issues to address overnight at Monza. During the second free practice session, Max Verstappen also voiced his concerns about the RB22 over the team radio. The Dutchman set only the ninth-fastest time in the second session, finishing more than eight-tenths of a second behind George Russell.

Verstappen said he had issues with his brakes, bouncing, and also tyre degradation.

Pierre Waché also addressed the team's problems on Day 1 in Monza. The Frenchman said: "Clearly, we have a balance issue on the car—that's the main thing, a little bit like Zandvoort, to be honest. It doesn't help when Max doesn't drive in FP1 and you jump into the car later, leaving us with less time to react, and now we have to make the necessary changes ahead of FP3."
