Toro Rosso said that "an anomaly on the data" was the reason they had to end their running on Friday on the final day of testing.
James Key's
Honda counterpart, Toyoharu Tanabe said: "We used the same power unit throughout test two.
"Therefore, it was disappointing that we spotted an anomaly in the data from our PU towards the end of the session.
"We decided to stop running as there would not have been enough time to investigate the situation fully and send the car back out again."
Despite this, Brendon Hartley completed 156 laps for the team on Friday, taking Toro Rosso's tally for the two weeks to 822.
Tanabe was positive on the whole however, telling the media: "Overall, the results of winter testing have been satisfactory.
"We managed to get through nearly all items on our programme, thus acquiring plenty of valuable data.
"Equally important, it was our first eight days of working at a race track together with Toro Rosso.
"Our relationship has been very open and honest and communication has been effective between all of us.
"It's only testing but it has been an ideal start."
Tanabe's comments adds to positive comments from driver Hartley and team principal Franz Tost.
It seems that Toro Rosso are very happy with their new Honda engines, and expect to be picking up regular points this season.
