Marc Marquez was the quickest during the opening MotoGP session of the San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano circuit.
There were two minor incidents during the session. Pramac Racing's Jack Miller, who will switch to WSBK next year, crashed at Turn 4 after exiting the pit lane for the first time. Later on, Pedro Acosta also lost control of his bike at Turn 1. Both riders were okay and were able to continue setting laps.
The riders set their best laps during the final moments of the session. Marquez was the quickest, setting a 1:31.468 to finish ahead of Marco Bezzecchi and Raul Fernandez. The Ducati rider's final sector was particularly impressive. The championship leader, Jorge Martin, set the eighth-fastest time.
The MotoGP weekend continues at 14:00 BST (15:00 local time) with the timed practice session, which will also decide the first 10 riders to qualify directly for Q2.
