A secret revealed: This is how many spectators the Las Vegas GP will soon have!

The demand for admission tickets was huge. At times when the online box office was open, waiting times to buy tickets were long. On social media, people complained that they simply could not get through and missed out on a ticket. But exactly how many seats were available was always a secret. Until now, that is.
The Las Vegas Review Journal reported on Sunday that 105,000 people are expected in the city for the events surrounding Formula 1. Only a smaller proportion actually sit in one of the grandstands around the track. According to the newspaper, between twenty and thirty thousand fans are expected, people who actually have tickets for the Grandstands.

Las Vegas GP smaller than Monaco

So if this number is correct - and of course Las Vegas' infrastructure creates limitations - there will be even fewer people along the 6.1-kilometre circuit than at the Monaco Grand Prix. That is the least attended F1 race of the season. Incidentally, the Journal's figures do not include how many fans watch the race from special places in hotels or VIP boxes. Given the exorbitant amounts charged for such spots, that is not going to be tens of thousands.
Incidentally, tickets for the Grand Prix are still on sale through resale sites. Recently, the asking price of tickets on these websites has halved. Having a ticket is nice, then you also need a place to sleep. Even during the race weekend in Las Vegas, a night in a hotel can cost up to $1 000.
