Peter Windsor has commented on the dismissal of Christian Horner and shared an intriguing thought process on what’s next for Red Bull Racing after the seismic sacking. After 20 years at the helm, Horner will now be replaced by former Racing Bulls team principal
Laurent Mekies, with the Frenchman now becoming the CEO and team principal of the Austrian team.
In recent days, there has been a lot of response to the appointment of Mekies as Red Bull's team principal.
Gerhard Berger was positive about the appointment of the Frenchman, but also had one major doubt. Ted Kravitz, on the other hand, was more cautious about expectations and believes

What can Mekies do to turn Red Bull around?
After the record-breaking season Red Bull Racing had in 2023 to take the drivers' and constructors' titles, a downward spiral has occurred for the Austrian team and Horner.
The Brit was dogged by allegations of misconduct in the workplace for months during the 2024 season, while internal struggles at the job team saw the likes of Adrian Newey and Jonathan Wheatley leave.
There has also been plenty of talk surrounding the future of
Max Verstappen at Red Bull, with continued talk about a move to Mercedes taking place.
The dismissal of Horner from Red Bull Racing came as a shock, and now, it remains to be seen what Mekies does at the helm. Windsor previously reacted to the dismissal in a live stream on his YouTube channel, where he also discussed the relationship between Verstappen and Mekies.
"You think there was that much bad blood between Max and Christian Horner?" the Australian started by saying after a viewer believed Verstappen would stay at Red Bull.
"Is there that much love for Laurent Mekies, and does he think Laurent is going to be able to get Adrian back to Red Bull? Imagine if that happened. Imagine if Laurent goes to Red Bull, goes into Christian's office, and a day later they announce that Jonathan Wheatley and Adrian Newey are both returning to Red Bull.
"And Honda too, they're cancelling their engine program with Aston Martin. They've signed a new 10-year deal with Max Verstappen, and they're keeping Honda, Adrian and Jonathan Wheatley all at Red Bull. Yeah, right," concluded a sarcastic Windsor.
