Verstappen praises Newey's RB19: 'Pleasure to drive with a car like this'

Max Verstappen recorded an ultra-dominant victory in the Spanish Grand Prix. From start to finish, the Red Bull Racing driver did not relinquish the lead for a moment.

"It's a big pleasure to drive with a car like this," praised Verstappen's masterful RB19 designed by Adrian Newey. "It showed again today. We have quite a bit of different strategies out there, but for most of the race we were on the right one. Again a win here, it's incredible!"

From the start, with Carlos Sainz challenging him ahead of the first corner, the Red Bull driver had already expected that he could not just drive away. "I had the harder compound of course, so I knew the start would be tricky, but going on the outside lucky nothing happened," Verstappen continued.

As for the gap to teammate Sergio Perez, who started 11th and finished fourth, Verstappen does not want to say too much. "We had another strong weekend, and that is what I like to see from myself and the team and hopefully we can keep that up throughout the year," said the current championship leader.
