Lewis Hamilton was really happy following finishing in P2 in the Spanish Grand Prix. The former champion had no contention to finishing second behind Max Verstappen, and he was also voted Driver of the Day.

Hamilton was ecstatic with finishing on the podium in his post-race interview with his former teammate Nico Rosberg, and praised his team for bringing the necessary upgrades. “What a result for our, team didn't expect the result we had today so I want to take my hat off to my team and thanks for everyone at the factory. Bringing us a little bit closer to the Red Bulls, they're still a bit ahead but we'll keep chasing them down.”

The seven-time world champion is also looking to challenge Red Bull and Verstappen again as soon as possible. “I think they are too quick at the moment but we're working at it. One step at a time. If we can get close by the end of the year, that'll be awesome. If not next year. Still flat out! No lifting," he added.
