Rain threat looming over Austin’s Sprint race after dry Friday?

Let’s take a look at the weather forecast for today in Austin ahead of US GP sprint race and qualifying.
After a dry Friday with one practice session and a hot Sprint Qualifying, the weather could turn a little more unpredictable on Saturday, when both the Sprint and Grand Prix qualifying are on the schedule.
Forecasts point to partly cloudy skies with the chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm. Despite that uncertainty, conditions will stay warm, with highs around 34°C, light winds, and humidity hovering near 60%.
Sunday’s race day should see the return of more stable conditions, with mostly clear skies, a top temperature of about 33°C, and steady winds between 10 and 15 km/h. While there remains a slight chance of a brief passing shower, all indications suggest a dry and sunny finale in Austin.

2025 US GP - Full Schedule

Friday’s running is done, and with just one practice session and qualifying already behind us, the focus now shifts to the first real test of the weekend — the Sprint Race, as it promises to add another layer of drama to an already tense title battle.
Max Verstappen will be looking to seize every opportunity to chip away at McLaren’s lead, while Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have their sights set on keeping the Red Bull star behind and strengthening their grip on the championship fight.
Behind them, Ferrari will be looking to bounce back after yet another disappointing qualifying session that saw both drivers finish well off the leading positions.
