The championship battle between the two McLarens and Max Verstappen continues this weekend at the Circuit of the Americas. This is the schedule for the upcoming Grand Prix.
After George Russell's victory in Singapore, the Formula 1 grid heads over to North America for a doubleheader in the United States and Mexico.
First, the drivers and teams will face off at the Circuit of the Americas before heading to the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
A Sprint will also take place in the United States, so the schedule will look different to a regular weekend.

Verstappen claims pole at COTA for the Grand Prix

The four-time world champion won the Sprint and took advantage of both drivers failing to finish.
Verstappen said after he took pole position for the Grand Prix in the press conference: “The car was very strong. Just trying to put the lap together around here can sometimes be quite tricky. It was very hot, with strong winds as well, and having a tailwind in a sector is quite challenging."
“The first run in Q3 was good. I just managed to improve a little bit from Q2. Unfortunately, I couldn’t do my final run, it was a bit messy with the out-laps, but luckily, we didn’t need it. So yeah, for us, again, a very strong result.”

Marko feels Verstappen could've taken pole by a bigger margin

Verstappen performed admirably over a single lap to take pole position by three tenths over his nearest rival Lando Norris.
It was a superb effort to build on his victory in the Sprint, reducing his deficit to championship leader Oscar Piastri to 55 points.
He exclusively told GPblog: "We have adjusted the car and what we have done has improved the car.
"Yes, it was better. In the second run, there were drivers who were so slow that we missed it (to be able to drive another round). Fortunately, it was enough. With a second set, I think we would have been even faster."
