Ferrari told to back Hamilton over Leclerc to have an 'impact on title battle'

After Hamilton's angry team radio messages at the Dutch Grand Prix, where he asked his team to tell Leclerc to let him past while running an alternative strategy, Rob Smedley argued that the Scuderia needs to back the British driver if it wants to have a real impact on this year's title battle.
He said on the High Performance Racing Podcast: "As hard as that is for Charles and the team that sits on that side of the garage with Charles and all the rest of it, they all work for Ferrari."

Smedley continued: "Lewis has had the better run and done the better job. And I think if they're going to steal points from Mercedes, they're going to do that as a team.
“They haven't got the best car consistently, but they have on occasions got the best car, and they're going to make it count then, and they're going to make sure that Lewis wins. On all the other occasions, they're just going to make sure that they maximize Lewis' points.
"This is just about doing what is the sensible thing for the team and trying to maximize Ferrari's position in the world championship," he concluded.
Hamilton is currently tied on points with his former teammate, George Russell, in the drivers' standings, 59 points behind Kimi Antonelli.

Piquet shares a moving message about daughter Penelope and receives support from Verstappen

On social media, the partner of Max Verstappen, Kelly Piquet, shared an emotional message dedicated to her first daughter, Penelope.
She did not go into specifics about what happened over the last month since Penelope's birthday, but wrote extensively about the lessons motherhood has taught her.
Piquet also addresses her daughter directly. "My P, I will always listen to you, stand up for you, protect your gentleness, and remind you that your feelings matter. I hope your seventh year brings you the peace, freedom, and carefree joy that every little girl deserves."
