Hamilton reveals the truth behind his viral post targeted at Alonso

The Scuderia Ferrari driver revealed how Alonso’s radio message reminded him of a line he hadn’t heard in decades. Hamilton concluded by saying it brought back memories, prompting him to share it.

“I haven't seen Fernando [Alonso]. I haven't seen him since then. It was just that we had fun," Hamilton said.

After crossing the finish line just behind the Ferrari driver, Alonso shared his frustration over the radio, repeating “I f****** cannot believe it!”

Following the race in Singapore, Hamilton took to social media to share a clip from the British sitcom, 'One Foot in the Grave,' featuring Victor Meldrew yelling out nearly the same line.

Alonso also reacted to Hamilton’s penalty at the Singapore Grand Prix. The 44-year-old explained that he was pleased with the position gained as a result of the sanction.

He concluded with a light-hearted remark, stressing that a smaller penalty would have been enough for Hamilton.

“I was happy with the penalty. I gained the position, so even one second was enough; I did not need the extra four,” Alonso said.

Hamilton was handed a five-second time penalty two weeks ago after breaching track limits following a brake issue in the final stages of the Grand Prix.
