Oscar Piastri’s rise in Formula 1 will be honoured in style at his home race, with the announcement that a dedicated Piastri Grandstand will debut at Albert Park for the 2026 Australian Grand Prix. The
McLaren star, currently leading the 2025 championship after 14 rounds, will see his name join a select group of Australian legends including Jack Brabham, Alan Jones,
Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo.
The new structure will be positioned on the main straight opposite pit lane, with the premium seating closest to the start line officially carrying Piastri’s name.
The existing Fangio Grandstand will remain, but the expanded section will be split into two – Fangio and Piastri – providing fans with some of the most sought-after seats at Albert Park.

Oscar Piastri in Spa-Francorchamps
Piastri called the recognition “very surreal”
“I’m very excited by the news that I’ll have my own grandstand at next year’s Australian Grand Prix.
"It feels very surreal, and I never thought this would happen but the support is incredible and I can’t wait to see it all come together next March.”
“Seeing all the fans in my own grandstand directly opposite the McLaren garage is going to be an amazing experience and I’m really looking forward to feeling the energy and the atmosphere.”
“Thanks to everyone who has made this happen and thanks in advance to everyone who wants to be part of it.
"The Australian fans always turn out to support me and this is just an extra reason why I can’t wait to race in Melbourne in 2026.”
Piastri represents Australia the way it likes to be represented
Former F1 driver and Piastri's current manager, Mark Webber, welcomes the news as natural reward for the McLaren driver's early F1 career results.
“It’s magnificent news for the event and for Oscar. It’s a reflection of his results so far, incredibly early in his career, that he’s managed to have the amount of podiums and victories that he’s had.
"Clearly he is very comfortable at the elite level, and making his presence felt which is brilliant, and representing Australia in the way that the country likes to be represented.”
“I think it will all sink in when the event is underway and the people in the grandstand can be opposite Oscar’s pit box. It will be an added bonus for the fans and Oscar alike.”
'Get your tickets early, demand will be higher than ever'
Jack Brabham's son, David Brabham, praised the young Australian for joining “some of Australia’s greats” at Albert Park.
Grand Prix organisers, Motorsport Australia, and Victoria’s Minister for Tourism all highlighted Piastri’s impact not only on track but across the wider motorsport community.
With demand expected to be higher than ever, organisers are urging fans to secure tickets early for what promises to be a landmark Melbourne race weekend.
