F1 Belgian Grand Prix 2025
At over seven kilometers, Spa-Francorchamps is one of the longest tracks on the Formula 1 calendar. The race consists of 44 laps, with plenty of technical sections that make it a thrilling challenge for drivers. The Ardennes weather, known for its unpredictability, adds an extra element of excitement, ensuring that both qualifying and the race will be fascinating to watch.
The circuit features two DRS zones, but despite this, a high top speed is still a key target for drivers. Striking the perfect balance between grip and speed pushes drivers to their limits. And as we’ve seen in previous years, if a storm cloud appears over the hills, you can be sure that both qualifying and the race will get even more interesting.

GP Belgium 2024 results
In 2024 local hero Max Verstappen, who is half-Belgium, did not quite have a successful race in the Ardennes. The Red Bull driver took a ten place grid penalty for engine component changes after qualifying on pole. Charles Leclerc led the pack away on Sunday, but quickly lost ground to quicker cars around him. Surprisingly, the Mercedes duo was lightning quick and took it to first and second place. With an audacious one-stop strategy, George Russell came home in first place from teammate Lewis Hamilton. Unfortunately, the winning Mercedes would later be disqualified and Hamilton therefore inherited his second win of the season through his fellow countryman’s bad luck. Piastri and Leclerc completed the podium places.
Lewis Hamilton at the Belgian GP
Hamilton shares second place in the all time list of most successful drivers at Spa-Francorchamps, with five total victories. Ayrton Senna also holds five wins around this racetrack, but no one is a match for Michael Schumacher’s six wins at the venue. Who knows whether Hamilton might equal the German’s record this year driving for Ferrari.
