Brad Pitt’s F1 movie is set to hit another milestone that will help you enjoy it in different ways.

The blockbuster movie is heading to streaming sooner than expected

According to When To Stream, the blockbuster will arrive on Apple TV+ on 22 August, though the date has yet to be officially confirmed by Apple.
The news comes after the film’s stunning box office run, where it became the highest-grossing Apple Original to date with over $500 million worldwide since its release on 25 June.
Directed by Top Gun: Maverick, filmmaker Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer alongside Lewis Hamilton, the movie follows Pitt’s character Sonny Hayes, a veteran racer lured back into Formula 1 to help rookie Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris, at the fictional APXGP team. Javier Bardem co-stars as team owner Rubens Cervantes.

Box office success drives new streaming chapter

The film smashed records on release, with F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali confirming it delivered Brad Pitt’s biggest global opening weekend ever and played across more than 44,000 screens in 80 markets.
Its momentum also boosted F1’s online reach, with the sport reporting its largest ever social media impact, over 20 billion impressions in Q2 2025.
Hamilton, who co-produced the project, described the premiere as “four years in the making” and thanked Apple, Warner Bros., and the crew for their support.
“We’ve poured everything we have into this film,” he said. “I really hope you’ll feel that when you watch it.”
With the theatrical run winding down, Apple will now look to translate its cinema success into a new wave of fan engagement when the film hits streaming later this month.
