Newey addresses Horner-to-Aston Martin rumors: 'We are happy with the personnel we have'

Adrian Newey addressed the rumors linking Christian Horner with Aston Martin. The team boss said they are currently happy with the personnel already in place.
Ahead of the British Grand Prix, a British newspaper once again linked Horner to the Silverstone-based team. GPblog reached out to Aston Martin at the time. "In line with our policy, we do not comment on rumors or speculation,” a team's spokesperson responded to this website.
Newey was also asked about Horner ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix. The master designer said: "Yes, I keep hearing about these rumors with Christian. I can't comment further. I don't really know anything about that. All I can say is that we're very happy with our senior management team. And we may do some minor tweaks, but the personnel we have at AMR, we are very happy with it."

At Silverstone, the former Red Bull Racing CEO and team boss was asked about his future. He said: "It's a great British brand. It's sad to see them really struggling as they are. But there's so much speculation. One week it's Aston, the next is Alpine, the next is somewhere else. I wish them all well today,” he noted.
"The main thing is F1 is in such a great place. The racing has been super this year, sitting back and watching it from behind the scenes. The interest in F1 is sky-high. There's so much interest for people who want to get involved in Formula 1, so we will see. I'm on no rush."
Newey encouraged by Aston Martin's updates for Hungary
After FP1, the Briton was rather positive about the changes his team brought to the final race ahead of the summer break.
He said: "So we only really got properly running data acquisition first of all, and then with Fernando we got onto the soft tyres near the end. Very early days in terms of understanding the new package.

"Provisional results are promising. It's only part of the package, so we'll have some more steps in Zandvoort and then further steps in Monza, Madrid, Baku, so it's the first part our planned upgrade, we are very short on parts, so we've been careful with it and trying to learn all about it."
