Max Verstappen has not ruled out the possibility of walking away from Formula 1 amid his dissatisfaction with the current regulations.
“I love racing, but you can only take so much, right?”

The Red Bull Racing driver, who has largely been vocal about his dissatisfaction with the new regulations, was quizzed about whether he would consider leaving the sport if he was not enjoying the racing.
Speaking to GPBlog, Verstappen pointed out that the sport’s governing body largely needs to focus on the rules as well as the feedback drivers have continued to offer about the new regulations.

“I think what they should worry about is the rules. Just focus on that. They ask questions, and I give my opinion on what I would like to see and what I think is better for the sport because I do care about it. I do love racing, and I want it to be better than this, right? So let's see what we can do,” Verstappen said.
“I hope that even during this year, maybe we can come up with some different solutions, so it becomes more enjoyable for everyone,” he added.
Pressed further on whether he could suddenly walk away from racing, the four-time champion, basing his response on the decisions of the FIA added:
“No, like I said, I love racing, but you can only take so much, right? I think they're willing to listen, FIA and F1, but I just hope that there is some action.”
“It’s not that I'm the only one saying it; I think a lot of people are saying the same. Whether it’s drivers or fans, we just want the best for the sport. It’s not that we are critical just to be critical. We are critical for a reason. We wanted it to be Formula 1, proper Formula 1, not on steroids. Today, of course, again, that was not the case," he concluded.
Verstappen finished the maiden race at the Australian Grand Prix in sixth place after having to start 20th following his crash in qualifying.
