Max Verstappen has stated that Red Bull are pushing 'flat out' to improve amid some difficult moments in the 2025 season. The Red Bull team sit fourth in the constructors on 162 points, with 155 of those coming from Max Verstappen.
On the other side of the garage, Yuki Tsunoda struggled again and missed out on Q3.
The Japanese driver will start from 12th place at the
British Grand Prix and will be hoping for points.
"Naturally, I think if you look at our season so far, we haven't performed the way we wanted to. But that's how it is. I cannot change that," Verstappen stated after qualifying.
"We are pushing all flat out, myself, the whole team, to try and be more competitive. Some tracks naturally are a bit better for us, unfortunately. The calendar is not all like this, so we need to try and also improve in other areas."
The Formula 1 world has changed massively since 2023, where Red Bull were still dominating.
McLaren mounted a successful challenge in 2024 and looks in pole position to take their second consecutive constructors' title.
"It's not that straightforward," Verstappen said. "Otherwise, of course, we would have done so already. But at least I'm happy with today."
Pole position is a good 'boost' for Red Bull team
Points are scored on Sunday, but the Milton Keynes-based team have taken a 'boost' from the pole position, Verstappen stated.
"It's a good boost for everyone, also after last weekend, which I think we were lacking a bit of pace, but also we were a bit unlucky in general."
Verstappen will be looking to take his third victory of the 2025 season with victory at the British Grand Prix, which gets underway at 3PM BST.
