Lewis Hamilton has stated that he will 'attack' as much as he can at Silverstone as he searches for his 10th British Grand Prix victory. The seven-time world champion was left disappointed after qualifying in fifth place for Sunday's race.
The home-hero was in the hunt for pole all weekend with a quick
Ferrari SF-25; however, a mistake on his last qualifying run meant that it wasn't to be.
Max Verstappen set a fantastic lap time to secure first place, with the McLaren pair of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris lining up in second and third.
Despite the disappointment, the nine-time British Grand Prix winner was still buzzing from the crowd's support at Silverstone.
Hamilton lauds 'amazing' British GP support
"It's been amazing," Hamilton began in the paddock to GPblog and other media present. "It's been amazing to be in the red car here, to see Brits shift from the outfits that we had in previous years to red and to embrace the Ferrari badge is pretty amazing.
"And the support's been incredible. My mum, my family's here which is great."
Hamilton is a tried and tested veteran of Silverstone and holds the record for the most F1 victories at a single circuit.
The Stevenage-born driver is still searching for his first Grand Prix win with Ferrari, placing no guarantees to do this at his home race.
"I don't know, I'm not even going to bother thinking about it because tomorrow will be what it's going to be. I'll get some good rest tonight, and I'll come and attack as much as best I can to win."
As ever with a race in Britain, weather may be a factor. Hamilton typically performs well in rain, but admitted that he couldn't care less about Sunday's prospective conditions.
"I don't know. I just want to be in the fight, so I don't know which one's best."
