Sunday marks the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. Earlier in the weekend, the weather in England was changeable, and forecasts suggest the conditions could continue to fluctuate. Here’s the latest weather outlook ahead of the race.
Ahead of the British Grand Prix weekend, forecasts predicted significantly cooler temperatures compared to Austria.
Indeed, light rain fell on Saturday during qualifying. Although there was some drizzle, it was too light to impact the drivers on track. As a result, neither intermediate nor wet tires were called into action, remaining unused in the pits.

The latest weather forecast for the British Grand Prix

The latest FIA weather forecast clearly indicates when rain is expected on Sunday. It appears the Grand Prix will take place under dry conditions, with rainfall occurring before the race begins.
Rain is expected to continue until around 1 to 2 pm local time. By the time the Grand Prix begins at 3 pm, the FIA's weather forecast predicts a 40% chance of rain, and as the Grand Prix will enter its second hour, that will drop to 20%.
It will be 18-19 degrees Celsius at the British track, while the track temperature will be in between 25-31 degrees Celsius throughout the race.
Strong wind gusts are also expected, ranging from 40 to 50 kph.
The weather conditions on race day are expected to be similar to those on Saturday, when Max Verstappen delivered an impressive pole position in front of the huge British crowd.
The RB21 has worked well in cooler temperatures, which could work in Red Bull Racing’s favour. However, Mercedes also tends to thrive in these conditions, setting the stage for an exciting and closely contested Grand Prix.
You also cannot count out either the McLaren or the Ferrari cars. The papaya pair of Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris start from second and third, respectively.
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will be hoping to propel the Scuderia up the grid from fifth and sixth.
