Kimi Antonelli’s flawless Monaco Grand Prix weekend has not gone unnoticed, with international media continuing to shower praise on the Mercedes star following his maiden victory in the Principality.
Antonelli secured a lights-to-flag victory around the streets of Monte Carlo, overcoming yellow flags, red flags, and multiple race restarts to claim the first Grand Slam of his career. The triumph also came as his championship rival and Mercedes team-mate, George Russell, endured a forgettable weekend, allowing Antonelli to extend his lead at the top of the drivers’ standings to a remarkable 66 points after just six rounds of the season.
The young Italian had already underlined his pace by securing pole position in dramatic fashion, edging out Max Verstappen by just 0.043 seconds. His execution throughout the weekend drew widespread acclaim, with media outlets across Europe hailing another landmark achievement from the 19-year-old. Here is how some of the international press reacted to Antonelli’s fifth consecutive victory.

The Italian publication was effusive in its praise of Antonelli, comparing his ruthless competitive edge to that of legendary Italian champion Alberto Ascari. The outlet also likened him to a superhero, noting that behind his warm smile lies a fierce competitor who transforms the moment he lowers his visor.
"Don't be fooled by that touching smile: this is a sports story with its share of violence. Because revolutions are violent. It's clear that Kimi Antonelli is a superhero: the car is his phone booth; he uses it to transform himself. When he steps out, he abandons the killer persona that transforms his opponents into details of the landscape, and returns to the sweet little boy who should be enjoying his summer graduation, but instead is about to explore territories unseen since the days of Ascari."

The Spanish outlet focused on the emotional scenes that followed Antonelli’s latest triumph, describing how the Mercedes driver celebrated with team principal Toto Wolff before highlighting the extraordinary scale of his achievement.

"On the podium of the Monaco Grand Prix, one of the most iconic races on the calendar, packed with onlookers creating a commotion from Rue Princesse Caroline, Andrea 'Kimi' Antonelli was overcome with emotion once again. He raised the winner's trophy in the air, his mentor, supporter, and boss Toto Wolff embraced him passionately, and Formula 1 continued to confirm that the boy from Bologna is more than just a great talent. Sixty-six points ahead of Lewis Hamilton and 68 ahead of George Russell speak volumes."
Marca continued:
"Antonelli is making history, and that's hardly news at this point. The numbers, like being the youngest winner in Monaco at 19, are staggering. His connection with Mercedes is even more so. The driver, whom only his mother calls Andrea, lives in a perpetual state of grace while giving the appearance of being a normal guy," Marca concluded.

The German publication did not hide its admiration for Antonelli, noting how even the tarmac and the various issues and stoppages that plagued the Monaco race had nothing on the Italian.
"Not even a pothole in the streets of Monaco could stop Kimi Antonelli. The Italian superstar showed nerves of steel to win the Monaco Grand Prix and once again make Formula 1 history. At 19 years and 286 days old, Antonelli is the youngest winner of the prestigious race in the Principality, and with his fifth consecutive victory, the Italian also extended his lead in the World Championship."
