Helmut Marko says that he enjoys the fact he will not have to fly to Australia for the next F1 Grand Prix after his departure. “I enjoy the very thought that I don’t have to fly to Australia in February”
- Helmut MarkoSpeaking to
F1-Insider, Marko admitted he does not mind not flying to the side for the season opener.
“I enjoy the very thought that I don’t have to fly to Australia in February.”He then explained that he is making switches at home to keep up with the sessions. “I’m now setting things up on TV so that I still have all the information I’m used to — because without sector times and things like that, a race is difficult to read.”
For the first time in two decades, Marko will no longer sit on the Red Bull pit wall in Australia, marking the end of a remarkable era defined by major success and an extraordinary ability to spot talent — including world champions Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen himself.
Steiner convinced Marko will continue to make headlines 'in the future'
Speaking to Krone Zeitung in a recent interview, the former Haas team principal said he was taken aback by the timing of the exit, but made it clear he has little doubt that Marko will remain a talking point in the future.
“I’m sure we’ll hear one or two more statements from the Doctor in the future — there’s no need to worry about that,” Steiner stated.
