Lewis Hamilton is heading into the British Grand Prix this weekend looking for his first Ferrari podium, but Thursday wasn't without some awkward moments. The seven-time world champion endured a tricky moment with
Martin Brundle ahead of the race weekend.
Sky Sports F1 was filming a special episode of the F1 Show ahead of the British Grand Prix and Hamilton appeared as a guest.
The pair spoke on the main straight, and the former F1 driver commented on Hamilton's now-infamous photo in front of Enzo Ferrari's house, which was taken earlier this year.
Hamilton responded by saying the praise was a rarity
The pair's awkward moment continued in front of the cameras as Hamilton said Brundle doesn't always have good things to say.
Here is how the discussion went:
Brundle: “That image of you in the black coat in the square, the Schumacher square at Ferrari, one of the most iconic photographs ever in Formula 1.”
Hamilton: “Thanks man. That means a lot coming from you! You don’t have too many positive things always to say.”
Brundle: “That’s not true.”
Hamilton has suffered a difficult start to life at Ferrari as he is yet to score a podium for the Italian team in 2025.
The British driver has lagged behind teammate Charles Leclerc, but looked more competitive at the Red Bull Ring last weekend.
Hamilton topped FP1 at his home race and kept up the good pace throughout the following couple of practice sessions.
He looked very quick and well-balanced across the low-speed turns in sector one and higher speed further round the lap, such as Copse, Becketts, and Stowe.
Silverstone has been a superb track for Hamilton throughout his storied career as he has won there a record-breaking nine times.
He took the victory at Silverstone last year in mixed conditions in what would become his penultimate win for Mercedes.
