F1 Full Results | Lando Norris on top in Hungarian Grand Prix FP3

The world champion's lap time of 1:17.939 was enough to pip Hamilton to top spot ahead of Qualifying at the Hungaroring later today, taking place in the capital of Budapest.

As is the norm in the final practice session, especially with track temperatures as high as they were in Budapest (50°C), the action took a while to get going, with Oscar Piastri and Charles Leclerc the first of the front runners to set times with just over fifteen minutes gone.

But suddenly the Red Flag was out. Sergio Perez's Cadillac was stopped at Turn 2 - newly named after Hamilton - with what appeared to be a raft of issues at once. The Mexican seemed to lose drive on the run down to the corner, but also complained of brakes that were up in smoke.

Once the action was back underway, the grid rushed back out, and the times started to tumble, with Hamilton going top - ahead of Norris by just 0.009s with 25 minutes to go. Leclerc responded with the first lap into the 1:18s, while Antonelli, who has suffered a tricky start to the Hungarian GP weekend so far, was into P2, two tenths up on Hamilton.

McLaren, however, as they did in FP2, were looking strong - with Norris snatching P1 off Antonelli with around 10 minutes to go by just 0.048s. Even when Hamilton improved with a 1:18.056, Norris then found even more lap time and regained his lead with the first, and only, time into the 1:17s.

In fourth came Leclerc, ahead of Piastri and Russell in P5 and P6, respectively. Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar made up seventh and eighth, while the top ten at FP3 was rounded up by Liam Lawson and Nico Hulkenberg.
