The Hungary Grand Prix weekend continues with FP3 on Saturday. Stay with us throughout the session as GPblog's Henry Eccles brings you the build-up and live updates from the Hungaroring.
Friday dominated Friday's running with Charles Leclerc topping the timesheets in FP1, ahead of Max Verstappen and his teammate Lewis Hamilton. The second practice session saw Hamilton, who is aiming for a record ninth win at the Hungaroring, top a Ferrari 1-2 ahead of the McLaren of Lando Norris.
Mercedes showed encouraging long run pace but struggled for outright pace over one lap, with George Russell finishing fifth in both sessions. Kimi Antonelli set out the first session for test driver Frederik Vesti, and only managed P13 in FP2, after he was unable to put a lap together due to a red flag, and then making a mistake on his next flying run.
Aston Martin are one of the biggest stories of the weekend as they finally brought their B-spec AMR26 out onto track. There were early concerns after Lance Stroll brought out the red flag in FP1 with a suspension issue. Fernando Alonso though sounded optimistic after FP2, taking encouragement despite finishing P19 in the afternoon.

Verstappen sees Red Bull struggling in Hungary

Despite finishing a respectable second and fourth during the free practice sessions on Friday, four-time world champion Verstappen did not sound confident about Red Bull's chances this weekend, when speaking to the media after FP2.
Verstappen complained about the rear of his Red Bull over the radio while out on track. He also had issues with downshifting as well as his seat.
He told the media on Friday: "It was a difficult day. It was difficult to find a good balance in the car. We need to make the car more consistent on a lap, and make that work on the long runs as well. So there's still some work to do for tomorrow."
