The first and only free practice session for the Qatar Grand Prix is over. Max Verstappen returned to the cockpit after being crowned champion in Las Vegas and only recorded the 11th fastest time. Charles Leclerc topped the session, with McLaren finishing second and third.

Max Verstappen was not happy. The Red Bull Racing driver indicated that he was taking in too much air and wanted to change helmets.
The Ferraris ended up being the fastest to finish practice in Qatar. With Charles Leclerc and his teammate Carlos Sainz in the first two places, the Scuderia experienced a good practice session.
