Lewis Hamilton’s comments at the end of the first day in Monza, with the seven-time world champion posting the fifth-fastest time of the day.
Hamilton’s first weekend as a Ferrari driver got off to a positive start, with the Briton setting the fastest time in the morning session.
He wasn’t able to replicate that pace in the afternoon but still finished a solid fifth, just a tenth of a second behind his teammate, who ended the day in second.
Despite this, the seven-time world champion appeared more comfortable with the car in both sessions, with the high-speed Italian circuit expected to suit the SF-25’s characteristics—this year’s car has shown it can be competitive on tracks with long straights.

Hamilton highlights positive Friday at Monza

Speaking about his feelings at the end of the day, the British driver commented: ''It’s very special to be out on track in front of the tifosi, the passion and energy here in Monza is truly unique.''
'He then added: 'The car felt pretty good earlier this afternoon and it was encouraging to finish FP1 on top. We made some changes between sessions that we’ll review carefully, as we’re not sure they took us in the right direction, but we have time to adjust ahead of tomorrow.''
''Our pace over a lap looked strong and we’ve collected valuable information across the tyre compounds so the priority will be to see how we can keep improving race pace.''
He finally concluded: ''I'm confident the team can make good progress overnight and we’ll be working towards a good qualifying tomorrow.''
