Christian Horner's sacking from his position as team principal and CEO of Red Bull Racing has not gone unnoticed, of course, and McLaren team principal Zak Brown, has not let it slide without taking a massive dig at the Briton.
After the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps which was won by Oscar Piastri with Lando Norris delivering yet another 1-2 for the papaya coloured team, the American was questioned by Sky Sports on the move that shocked F1.

Brown issues vote of confidence for Mekies

McLaren are currently running away in both championships, with Piastri now holding an 81-point lead over closest non-McLaren pursuer, Max Verstappen.
Brown welcomes Mekies in a suggestion that the move will only help Red Bull Racing.
"Competition makes you stronger, so from that sense, they keep you on your toes," he said, quickly adding: "I think Laurent is very good."
"It’s a shame to kind of go out the way he did."

'A shame 'forgettable' Horner went out the way he did'

Will Horner's dismissal from Red Bull continue to grab the F1 paddock's attention in the coming weeks? Brown doesn't give it 'til Monday even.
"The sport moves on quickly, so it probably won’t be something that we’re talking about come Monday."
Regarding Red Bull itself, Brown keeps an eye on them and welcomes a potential resurgence.
"It’s a great racing team, so we’ve got to pay attention. Even the worst team in Formula 1 right now is really good, so I think all this competition makes you better."
After commending Horner on his sporting achievements, Brown saw the team principal's exit as unworthy of his accolades. "He had fantastic results. It’s a shame to kind of go out the way he did."
