Lance Stroll will not take part in the second free practice session at the Hungarian Grand Prix after Aston Martin confirmed there was not enough time to repair his damaged AMR26.
The Canadian sustained rear-end damage during the opening practice session after suffering a failure of the left-rear suspension, one of the many areas Aston Martin had revised as part of its upgrade package for the Hungarian Grand Prix, leaving the team unable to repair the car in time for FP2.
Aston Martin arrived at the Hungaroring with one of the most extensive upgrade packages of the season, introducing changes across virtually every area of the AMR26. The team's 16-part update included revisions to the front wing assembly, floor, diffuser, sidepods, engine cover, cooling system, rear suspension, rear corner and complete rear wing package in a bid to improve the car's overall performance.
