The 54-year-old, who currently serves as the Chief Trackside Engineer for the Silverstone-based outfit, highlighted how the proximity of the Aston Martin team to its engine manufacturer, Honda, could be pivotal in addressing several of its early-season power unit issues.
Speaking to GPblog, Krack further noted how the Suzuka event offers greater opportunities for wider team exchanges.
“Yeah, I mean, we do not have to wait for the Japanese Grand Prix to go there and work with them. Just the fact that the whole race team will be in the country with them,” Krack said.

“I think it will be, you know, the Japanese Grand Prix is obviously exposing you more, and it will probably give opportunities for a larger group to have exchanges, but the core working group is independent of what race is going on,” he concluded.
The Aston Martin team has witnessed their 2026 season unfold in a far departure from what many would have envisaged. The British green team currently faces numerous issues, which team principal Adrian Newey has pointed to as mainly related to the power unit, and they have also failed to finish a Grand Prix so far.
