MotoGP Full Qualifying Results | Martin snatches pole at Silverstone with track record

MotoGP is back from its summer break, and the first qualifying session was an exciting one. In the final moments, Martin claimed pole position with a new track record, beating the two Trackhouse riders, Fernandez and Ogura.

Returning from injury, Martin's teammate, Marco Bezzecchi, finished fifth. After holding provisional pole following the first attempts, Marc Marquez eventually finished sixth. The Ducati rider was unable to complete his final flying lap and therefore could not improve.

Replacing Fermin Aldeguer, Ducati WSBK rider Iker Lecuona made it through to Q2 with Gresini Racing. The Spaniard set the 10th-fastest time in the second session, finishing just behind Pedro Acosta.

Meanwhile, for Fabio Quartararo and Francesco Bagnaia, it was a session to forget. The former world champions were eliminated in Q1 and will start the race from 13th and 16th respectively on the grid.

The British Grand Prix weekend continues later today with the Sprint at 16:00 local time at Silverstone Circuit.
