The only question is when, according to the double world champion.
Although this year's campaign and last year's as well, have been underwhelming for the British racing green coloured team, its infraestructure and star-filled ranks certainly bode well for Aston Martin's future aspirations. In fact, Alonso thinks the Lawrence Stroll-owned outfit has the best cards for the future. "Yeah, I think so," he told GPblog.

Alonso guarantees Aston Martin will win championships

Nevertheless, the work ahead of Aston Martin's championship consumation is not yet done. "We just need, you know, to put everything in place," Alonso nuanced. "The facilities are new. People are just a few months into the system. It will be enough this few months or we need one full season to glue everything together?," the two-time champion wondered, suggesting the team could be ready to soar to the top of F1 come 2027.
"That's the thing, I don't know. Aston Martin will succeed, I think it's for me a guarantee. The biggest question is when and that's what we all try to make it as soon as possible," Alonso concluded.

Alonso sends warning to rival F1 teams

The double world champion argued Aston Martin is well-placed for a major step in 2026, calling the new F1 regulations a “reset," noting the team shifted their focus to 2026 in April. Read his full statements here.
