Ricciardo well aware of Mercedes vulnerability

Daniel Ricciardo insists Mercedes have become "vulnerable" over the past two race weekends. Ferrari, in particular, have been hot on their heels with the majority of the paddock suggesting the Italian team are ahead. As we approach the halfway stage, Mercedes trail Ferrari in both Championships.

Ricciardo at one stage was eyeing up a move to the German team. He still remains without a 2019 contract, but it's increasingly likely he will stay at Red Bull. While at Red Bull, the Australian is keen to exploit the weaknesses he has spotted.

"They [Mercedes] are not as dominant as they have been the last few years. That was inevitably going to start to mellow out at some point," he told race fans.

"I still think they are the overall toughest package to beat on the grid, but they've shown some signs of weakness in some areas. Compare to how they've been, yeah they look vulnerable."

The Red Bull boys have a good history in Hockenheim. Last time out they both reached the podium. He goes on to confirm he is confident his Red Bull is capable of picking up another win this season.

"I guess Max and myself probably take too many points away from each other - Lewis and Seb are doing all the winning there [at Mercedes and Ferrari]," he added.

"We are good enough to win more races. We need to find a little bit to be there on more tracks.

"Hopefully the ones we expect to be quick on, we are. If we come fifth and sixth in Budapest, we're probably going to be pretty pissed off."
