Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton can achieve his 91st victory this weekend, which equals Michael Schumacher's number of victories. The Brit deserves this success, says Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc.
Ferrari did not have a happy weekend during his own jubilee race at Mugello a fortnight ago. Leclerc finished eighth and Sebastian Vettel had to settle for tenth position. The Monegask had hoped for more after a strong qualification, he says to Speedweek.com. "It always feels good to be a driver for Ferrari. But the performance wasn't quite what we had hoped for. It's just hard now. I had a good Saturday, but Sunday was a lot harder".

"He deserves it"

The 22-year-old closed the circuit in his heart. "I love that circuit. At first I was sceptical about the amount of overtaking possible during the race, but everything went a lot better than expected in that respect. But of course the crashes and red flags also helped. But in general it was easier to overtake or be overtaken than expected".
Of course Leclerc was also asked about the record that Lewis Hamilton will have. "Lewis deserves this record. He has been extremely consistent in recent years and he has always competed for the top places. On the one hand it is of course a pity that Michael's record is going to die, but Lewis has worked hard for it and I am happy for him if he takes it".
