Pedro Acosta has recently addressed the rumours that he may be set to depart KTM and line up alongside world champion Marc Marquez at Ducati in 2027.
The rider market is certainly experiencing some unsteady waters this year with speculation surrounding many of the grid's top riders, including one of the most promising young talents the sport has seen for some time, Pedro Acosta.
His solid performances for both KTM Factory Racing and their satellite Tech3 team in the last couple of seasons have put him on everyone's radar as a star of the future, and Ducati have already hinted that Acosta could be set to join Marquez for the 2027 season.
In a recent interview with Cosimo Curatola on the BENZINE YouTube channel, Acosta addressed the rumours publicly for the first time this season.
"[The KTM bike is] difficult, difficult because in the end I think we have improved this extraction, but it's also true that Ducati, Honda and Aprilia have taken steps. I think we are in the same place as last year but we're going faster." said Acosta regarding his current situation with KTM.

"Let's see, in the end we have time," he said addressing a question about his potential switch to Ducati red, "we have to get some results and then start talking but we have to take our time this year."
As for lining up alongside Marc Marquez as a future teammate, the Murcian responded calmly:
"It's always nice that people talk about you - that's why we have to do some good races so confidently that the whole world will talk about it."
It seems that Acosta is very much motivated by results and will be looking to secure his first premier-class victory with KTM this season.
Last year, Acosta managed an impressive five podiums and a finish of fourth in the overall standings, just above Marquez's current Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia.
