The reigning world champion has stated that it makes no difference to him whether he is chasing or defending a championship and that the biggest challenge of his career is 'already done.'
The 2025 season was a historic one for Marc Marquez who added his seventh premier-class title to the record books, equalling Valentino Rossi as one of MotoGP's greatest ever champions.
I don't feel pressure.

After a spell of injuries and setbacks in 2020, Marquez made the bold move to join Ducati's satellite Gresini team in 2024, a decision which ultimately paid off and rewarded 'The Alien' with a factory seat for 2025.
Marquez took full advantage and dominated the season with a total of eleven race victories, scoring enough points to win the title despite missing the final four rounds of the season through injury.
Speaking in a media scrum with BOLASPORT.com, Marquez took various questions following on from the MotoGP season launch event in Kuala Lumpur.
When asked whether there is more pressure to defend his title rather than to reclaim it, Marquez responded in the following way:
"I don't feel pressure, because the most challenging thing in my career was to come back from injury and I've already done [it]." said the world champion, "Of course, I will try to do my 100%. Of course I will try to fight for the championship because for that reason we are in the Ducati Lenovo team. But I feel super relaxed and happy."

"The first target is to feel better on the bike and feel 100% of this [..] condition. Still we need some steps there because we are coming from an injury and yeah for that point let's see where are the opponents and try to understand during the season who will be the main opponent."
"We already understand from the first test that Bezzecchi, Pecco and Alex - they are fast like last year."
